Company Policy

Customers are reminded that natural colour variation occurs in all Cedar products.

The manufacturer reserves the right to upgrade or change specifications and prices without notice.

Joinery supplied clear glazed unless otherwise specified.

We strongly recommend that all joinery is sealed on the top and bottom edges prior to installation.

Your timber joinery may be affected by changes in temperature, moisture and location.

Displays, examples, images and brochures are intended as an indication only. It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that designs and specifications are adequate for the situation envisaged and that they conform to the relevant standards and codes for the environment in which they are placed.

Entrance doors require sufficient overhead protection.

The manufacturer takes no responsibility for degeneration due to inadequate finishing by the customer.

Warranty

Joinery products are covered by our warranty for up to 7 years* from the date of delivery subject to the following conditions:

1. The product has been installed in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and Cedar West recommendations.

2. The product has been maintained in accordance with Cedar West recommendations.

3. The product has not been subject to misuse, abuse or neglect.

4. Cedar West standards and tolerances are not deemed defects, nor are variations in the colours of timber componentry.

5. Cedar West accepts no responsibility for glass breakage except for faulty workmanship or materials. Reinforced glass, toughened glass, float glass, laminated glass and framed mirror glass is warranted against defects and degradation for a period of three (3) years. Insulated glazing units are warranted against defects and degredation for a period of three (3) years (subject to the DGU glass manufacturer's conditions).

6. We do not recommend or warrant timber joinery that is unsealed/uncoated.

7. Water marking from capillary action particularly at frame joints may occur prior to completion of painting and is not deemed to be product failure.

8. Moving parts which wear out as a part of normal use are warranted for three (3) years. Hardware is warranted against defects and degradation for a period of one (1) year (subject to the specific hardware manufacturer's warranty and conditions). Cedar West accepts no responsibility for typical tea staining, likely in coastal areas if regular cleaning is not maintained.

9. Warp/bending exceeding 5mm for doors up to 2100 x 920mm, 6mm for doors over 2100 x 920mm and up to 2340 x 920mm and 8mm for doors up to 2340 x 1200mm shall be considered a defect. Doors in excess of 2340mm high or 1200mm wide are not guaranteed against warp/bending. Surface/face misalignment at meeting edges of double swinging doors fully closed over 5mm shall be considered a defect. Hinged door clearances are defective if (within 12 months of completion) clearances between leaves and frames are not uniform (typically 2-5mm, although clearances may be greater for the base of doors depending on hardware and site/design requirements).

10. This Warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the faulty product but does not extend to return delivery, installation or refinishing of a replacement.

11. Only repairs carried out by Cedar West personnel or authorised Cedar West agents are covered by this Warranty.

12. The installation of doors and hardware (where installation is by Cedar West not a third party) is warranted for a period of twelve (12) months from completion of installation. This installation warranty is for labour only and does not cover nor limit product warranties.

13. Factory prefitted joinery may require minor carpentry adjustments to suit site conditions, including adjustment/fitting of hardware (by the client's carpenter/installer as required).

14. Claims under this Warranty should be made within one month of the defect arising in the product. Copies of documentation showing the purchase date of the product should be included with your written claim.
