The generous use of timber throughout the home adds warmth and texture to the design. The owner-builder has chosen to use Western Red Cedar for every element of timber in the home, including the huge 200mm x 200mm timber beams. Cedar is an excellent choice for both internal and external applications as it remains dimensionally stable in most weather conditions and is not prone to shrinking or cracking.
